The GE IS200EGDMH1AFG is an Exciter Ground Detector Module, engineered to monitor generator field circuits for ground faults in industrial excitation systems. It detects leakage resistance between AC/DC circuit points and ground, identifying hazards that could compromise safety or system integrity.
Compatible with simplex single module or redundant three modules setups, it adapts to varying reliability needs. It interfaces with the EXAM module via specialized cabling, with the EXAM—housed in the Auxiliary Panel’s High Voltage Module—sensing voltage across the ground sense resistor. Built for durability, this module integrates seamlessly into systems like GE’s EX2100 series, ensuring robust fault detection to safeguard power generation and turbine operations.

Sense Resistor: Uses a unity gain differential amplifier with a high common mode rejection ratio to accurately detect the ground loop.
Analog-to-digital conversion: The conversion of analog signals to digital signals is realized through a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO).
